The BMW M54B22 is a 2.2-liter naturally aspirated inline-six engine (2,171 cc) produced from 2000–2006, commonly found in E46 320i and E39 520i models. It produces 168–170 horsepower (125 kW) and 155 lb-ft (210 N·m) of torque, known for its smooth operation and reliability if maintained. It was released in the E53 X5 and is the replacement for the M52 engine.
